The Amherst Error that Sealed the Deal for a Spartan Victory

From their own 40 yard line with 4:49 to go in the 3rd quarter and the score tied 24 all, Amherst Lancers Quarterback Keshon Turner let a snap go through his hands.
Salem’s Avery Close got his hands on it first, but the ball continued to bounce toward the Amherst goal line. Salem’s James Newby recovered on the 1 and set up the touchdown that put the Spartans up by 7. Amherst never regained their earlier momentum and the Salem Spartans went on to win their season opener 38 to 24
